The choosing game…a poem

Participants and initiators. Breakers and the broken. From the past, in the present and into the future, forever his glorious love has chosen you, destiny calls.

choosing game 2

I wanted to be chosen
When I realized there was competition
I wasn’t chosen
I was only good for occasions
Not for everyday life

He wanted me to choose him
I was different from those he’d met
But he wasn’t mine to choose
Stones of enduring friendship

I wanted to be loved
I chose him to have someone
He wanted more than I’d give
I realized he wasn’t for me

I wanted to be chosen
When I realized there was deliberation
I wasn’t chosen
Perfect will over permissive will
Destiny calls

I believed I was chosen
I chose him because he chose me
The voices were quiet and deafening
I wasn’t chosen

He chose me
Being chosen felt good
With words, without actions
Being chosen waned

He chose me
I chose him
It wasn’t ours to choose
Perfect will over permissive will
Destiny calls

He chose me
I chose him
Eternal love, unfailing love
Forever together
Destiny calls
